Save the Animals….NOT

Just as a disclaimer I do support conservation efforts but I think it is getting ridiculous trying to save every single animal. I got this idea when I watched a commercial and some actor was sitting there telling us to save the polar bear. Also there is a commercial for Sears or some store of the sort talking about saving the polar bears….I am not going to buy a fridge/dryer/washer to save a polar bear I am going to buy a fridge/dryer/washer because it works. Now polar bears are pretty awesome animals, but everything is going to become extinct, its the circle of life (Yes I did just use a quote from a kids movie to argue a point). I watched a show about the apocalypse the other day and it said something like 99% of all species that have ever have inhabitated the earth are extinct now. I would say the odds are against the polar bears and us, the human race also.

Now if the mosquitoes were about to become extinct I dont think anyone would complain about that, would they, cause I sure as **** aint. Now there are a few times that I promote trying to save an extinct animal. The main case being human interference. That means hunting, encroaching on their land, obstructing migration routes etc. Those animals deserve just as much of a chance as your son or daughter, but we dont hunt little children for furs, do we? A few examples include salmon, wolves, buffalo, etc. All these animals were devastated as a direct result of human interference.

Now you may say the polar bears are dying because of global warming and all that mumbo jumbo. I dont believe in all that BS and I believe that the earth is just going through cycles, and the glaciers melting is one on them. In history the Native Americans crossed a land bridge that was exposed during an ice age because glaciers absorbed ocean waters to help them to reach farther south. Right now the complete opposite is happening and the glaciers are retreating, thus putting more water in the oceans.

Another argument I have for leaving them alone is natural selection, or only the fittest survive. If the polar bears do not adapt to the new surrounding they will become extinct, if they do they will survive and prosper. If we continue to try to save these animals were are completely defeating evolution. We as humans have already done this to yourselves. Your medicine is so advanced that we keep sick people alive which centuries before would have died and not reproduced. The same with idiots, people do something dumb, get severely injured then are saved, thus allowing more idiots to reproduce. Now I do appreciate medicine because it does help people with diseases that arent fatal, but are just a hindrance to the affected.

Overall I do like try to save the planet and all that other stuff but we dont have to realize we are going to lose some species. Its like trying to win a war without losing a man, it will never happen.
